Decamped PDP forum urged all APC support groups to work towards uniting party members across Kebbi

A forum of decamped PDP candidates from the 2023 State House of Assembly election in Kebbi State has strongly rebutted a recent call made by a coalition of APC support groups against Atiku Bagudu.

On November 12, the Decamped Members of PDP SHAC-Kebbi State Chapter condemned the coalition’s appeal to His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning. They described the appeal as unjust and potentially divisive among APC members in Kebbi.

The forum stressed that no single group, individual, or coalition has the authority to make such requests to Minister Bagudu. Instead, they urged all APC support groups to work towards uniting party members across Kebbi State and to rally behind the Tinubu/Kaura administration, warning against actions that could stir tension, especially in Kebbi Central.

They accused the coalition’s press release of violating the constitutional rights of the former Senator and two-time Governor of Kebbi State, now serving as a federal minister.

The forum reaffirmed their loyalty to the Tinubu/Kaura government and praised Governor Nasir Idris for his impressive achievements and inclusive approach to party unity.

In a statement issued by Honorable Gidado Musa K. Umar Kalgo, former National Secretary and State Publicity Relations Officer of the forum, the group insisted that no support group or individual has the right to call on Minister Bagudu to sway from his constitutional right to vote or be voted for.

The statement was released on behalf of the State Acting Chairman, Honorable Mustapha Suleiman Shanga.

The forum concluded by calling on all APC factions to avoid actions that could cause disintegration or create rifts, emphasizing that unity and collective effort are crucial for the party’s strength as it heads into the 2027 general election.
