Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi: ‘Has 100 children who could memorise, recite Quoran’, Senate pays tribute to a scholar
Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba Umar has revealed that Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi who died last week has 100 children who could memorise and recite Quoran thereby made him one of the most accomplished Islamic Scholar in Nigeria.
Buba said the late Islamic scholar who was born on 29th June 1927 and died on 27th November, 2025 established Islamic centres across the northern zone where children are trained in Quoran and has mentored many lives.
The lawmaker urged the red Chamber to observe a minute silence and added that the late Sheikh left a vacuum that would be too difficult to fill.

Senators Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako representing Sokoto North Senatorial District and Adamu Aliero representing Kebbi Central Senatorial District eulogised the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, saying his life was a model to many scholars, particularly that he influenced his own children in recitation and memorisation of Quoran.
The Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau who presided over the plenary lauded the late Sheikh for a life well spent and approved a voice vote for a one minute silence for him.
