Veteran journalist Dan Agbese dies at 81

The media industry has lost a highly celebral member, Dr. Dan Agbese who died on Monday at the age of 81.

His death was confirmed in a statement on Monday by the Agbese family of Ikpilogwu clan of Agila district, Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.

“We hereby announce the passing away of our husband , father, grandfather, brother, uncle and mentor: Chief Dan Agbese, the Awan’Otun of Agila.”

Late Agbese served as editor and contributor and columnists to several notable newspapers and a founding of member of the now rested Newswatch magazine.

He is survived by his wife, Chief Rose Agbese, their six children, and seven grandchildren.
