Confusion in APC as Ganduje reportedly resigns as National Chairman
The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reportedly resigned from his position.
Although no official reason has been given for his sudden departure, sources close to the development claim the decision was made at the behest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the early hours of Friday.
Fueling the speculation, Ganduje’s personal belongings were seen being moved out of his office at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, causing a wave of confusion among staff and visitors.
Ganduje, a close ally of President Tinubu, was appointed APC National Chairman on August 3, 2023, following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
His leadership faced legal challenges from the North Central APC Forum, led by Saleh Zazzaga, which argued that the position should remain in the North Central geopolitical zone. However, on September 23, 2024, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed the suit seeking his removal.
