Osun 2026: Omisore declares bid to contest governorship on APC platform

Mr Iyiola Omisore, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC has indicated his interest to contest governorship election in 2026 on the party platform.

He said, his formal declaration will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the APC Secretariat Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

The APC chieftain in a post on his verified X account on Saturday, titled “Fix the Broken, Restore Our Dreams,” is set for Tuesday, said: “My beloved people of Osun State, after deep reflection and extensive consultations, I have decided to formally declare my intention to contest for the Governor of Osun State in 2026 under our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Omisore wrote.

He promised to focus on restoration of hope, strengthening governance in the state and delivering a brighter future for the people of Osun State.

“This is not just my mission; it is a collective one. I humbly invite you to join me as we take this bold step towards the Osun Rescue Mission 2026,” he stated.

Omisore, who previously contested the 2014 governorship election in Osun on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the APC, is expected to be among the leading aspirants in the ruling party’s race for the governorship ticket.
