6 Ministry of Defence directors kidnapped in Kogi
Six directors in the Ministry of Defence have been kidnapped by gun men along the deadly Kabba-Lokoja highway in Kogi.
The senior officers were reportedly travelling from Lagos to Abuja for a Directorate level promotion examination before they were intercepted by gunmen and diverted into the forest on November, 2025.
The Kabba-Lokoja route in the Kogi West Senatorial District has been a hotbed of kidnapping and abductions with commuters at the receiving end for quite some time.

CAPITAL POST correspondent gathered that staff of the Ministry of Defence in Abuja were shocked by the development, wondering what would be the fate of their colleague in hands of kidnappers.
Reacting in a statement, the ASCSN President, Shehu Mohammed, and the Secretary-General, Joshua Apebo, assured staff of the Ministry that efforts to release the directors were underway.
The statement identified abductees as, Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor, Mrs. C. Emeribe, Mrs. Helen Ezeakor, Mrs. C. Ladoye, Mrs. J. Onwuzurike, and Mrs. Catherine Essien.
These Directors, who are members of our union and staff of Command Day Secondary School, CDSS, Ojo, Lagos, were travelling from Lagos to Abuja when they were kidnapped.”
The ASCSN disclosed that the Defence Ministry had already mobilised its security operatives, who are taking urgent steps to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted Directors.
