Kaduna Polo Tournament set to commence with grand celebration with longtime Sponsor, First Bank

The historic Kaduna Polo Club is set to commence the 2025 Kaduna International Polo Tournament, scheduled to hold from October 18 to 26 at the club’s ground at Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna.

The popular tournament proudly sponsored by First Bank of Nigeria in partnership with the Nigerian Polo Association (NPA), continues a long-standing partnership that has supported the prestigious tournament for decades. Kaduna International Polo Tournament recently celebrated its 100 years of spectacular tourney.

As part of the event, the club will host its traditional Cheque Presentation Night on Friday, October 17, 2025, by 8:00 p.m. at the Kaduna Polo Club house. The social event serves as the official curtain-raiser for the tournament and a networking platform for sponsors, players, and polo enthusiasts.

In a statement signed by Muhammad Babangida (Garkuwan Yamman Katsina), President of the Kaduna Polo Club, and Atiku Abubakar Saleh (Baraden Maru), Tournament Manager, the club expressed appreciation to its sponsors and invited guests to join in celebrating a century of polo excellence and tradition.

The Kaduna International Polo Tournament remains one of Africa’s most prominent sporting and social events, drawing top players and dignitaries from across the country and beyond.

His Royal Highness Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, the Emir of Katsina is the grand patron Nigerian Polo Association (NPA) and has contributed tremendously to the success of the tournament over the years.
