2027: Fubara cleared, good to go – Party source

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has scaled through the All Progressives Congress screening and is now set to face party primaries amid stiff opposition from Nyesom Wike and his political allies.
Tick rumours flown around that the governor was blocked and contemplated defecting to the newly registered National Democratic Congress, NDC which he denied through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary on Wednesday, Mr Onwuka.

A source within the party told journalists that Imo State Governor and Chairman of Progressives Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma had automatic clearance. Uzodimma is contesting for Senate and it’s being speculated that he has his eyes on Senate Presidency.
The source said, all governors wanting to come back and those eyeing Senate who have finished their second term of office have been cleared including the former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Sarafadeen Alli.

However, the immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu has not yet been cleared. He seems to have financial issues which has not yet been blown open. His fate to contest Oyo Governorship on APC is hanging on the Screening Committee with strong indications that he might be disqualified.
