Former governor of Rivers State and the immediate past Minister of Transportation in the late Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Rotimi Amaechi, woed to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amid his election rigging plans if he gets the African Democratic Party, ADC ticket in the 2027 general election.

ADC has been adopted as coalition platform to work and defeat Tinubu for a second tenure of office.

Addressing party stakeholders in Abuja on Saturday on his ambition to join the race in the 2027 general election, Amaechi stressed that his entry into the race would not only guarantee victory but also expose the alleged strategies used by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate past elections.

He alleged that the ruling all Progressives Congress, APC was planning to rig President Tinubu back to office, but vowed that their plans would be met with resistance stage by stage.

“If I secure the ADC ticket, I will beat President Tinubu at the polls. More importantly, Nigerians will finally see how the APC rigs elections,” he said.

Amaechi, who served as Rivers State governor for eight years and twice as Director-General of APC presidential campaigns, insisted that Nigerians were yearning for change and transparency.

“The people want truth, not propaganda. I know the system from the inside, and I will dismantle the machinery that has kept them in power through questionable means,” he added.

The former minister urged ADC members to rally behind him, stressing that unity and strategic mobilisation were key to unseating the ruling party in 2027.
