2027: Mutfwang assured of governorship ticket, to defect to APC soon

The Governor of Plateau State, Barr Cal3b Mutfwang has met President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, where he had discussion on his planned defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Mutfwang, who was elected on the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, discussed the Governorship ticket in 2027 if he defected.

Though, the meeting held behind close door, a source said, Mutfwang wanted to be sure that he would be offered ticket before defecting to the ruling APC.

Another within the APC National Working Committee, NWC, also confirmed that Mutfwang’s meeting with Tinubu followed was a “wrapped up” of what was agreed with the APC National Chairman.

The APC official confirmed that Governor Mutfwang, who was elected on the platform of the factionalised PDP, contacted the APC National Chairman last week to signal his intention to quit the main opposition party.

“The governor, who had always reiterated his commitment to the PDP, has finally decided. He informed the chairman last Tuesday, and the chairman took him to the president on Sunday”.
