Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has on Friday called on the Plateau indigenes residing in Kaduna to support President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, stressing that sustained cooperation between the state and federal government would help accelerate development, attract further investment and consolidate the gains being recorded across Plateau State.

Let us join hands to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term in 2027 so that the Renewed Hope Agenda can continue to deliver tangible benefits to our people and our nation,”

Governor Mutfwang said Plateau’s growing representation in national leadership presented an opportunity for the state to strengthen its voice, deepen political engagement and advance the collective aspirations of its people.

He expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices and solidarity demonstrated by Plateau indigenes during the 2023 governorship election, particularly those who travelled from Kaduna to Plateau State to exercise their franchise in support of his candidacy.

He described their commitment as a profound demonstration of faith in his leadership and a compelling reminder of the responsibility his administration bears to deliver on its promises to the people.

“I am here to express my profound appreciation for the support you gave me during the 2023 election that brought me into office. Your sacrifices, your conviction and your unwavering belief in our vision for Plateau State will never be taken for granted.

“Since 2023, we have continued to work together, and I assure you that we will sustain this partnership as we move towards 2027. Our commitment to the people remains firm, and we will continue to build on the foundation we have laid to deliver greater development, strengthen our institutions and improve the quality of life of our people.

Governor Mutfwang also called on Plateau indigenes residing in Kaduna to appreciate the hospitality and support extended to them by their host state, while encouraging them to participate actively in the democratic process and support candidates committed to peace, development and good governance.

Highlighting the achievements of his administration, the Governor reaffirmed his determination to accelerate infrastructural development, improve public services and expand economic opportunities across Plateau State.

He disclosed that road construction and rehabilitation projects were ongoing across the state’s 17 local government areas, with several projects already completed and commissioned.

He assured the people that his administration would sustain the momentum, ensuring that infrastructure development reaches more communities and strengthens connectivity, commerce and economic activities.

On education, Governor Mutfwang explained that his administration had introduced far-reaching interventions to reduce the financial burden on parents and expand access to quality education. He highlighted the reduction of tuition fees by 50 per cent at Plateau State University and other targeted educational interventions, alongside increased scholarship opportunities for students.

He further noted that his administration had prioritised the accreditation of academic programmes across tertiary institutions, while investing in school infrastructure and the provision of learning materials to improve teaching and learning at the primary and secondary levels.

In the health sector, the Governor said his administration had intensified efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery through improved medical infrastructure, the provision of modern diagnostic equipment, expanded laboratory capacity and the revitalisation of primary healthcare facilities across the state.

He emphasised that the objective was to ensure that residents, particularly vulnerable and underserved populations, could access quality and affordable healthcare without unnecessary hardship.

On security, Governor Mutfwang reiterated that the protection of lives and property remained a central pillar of his administration. He said the government had continued to invest in security operations, intelligence gathering and community-based initiatives, working with relevant security agencies and stakeholders to confront threats and restore lasting peace.

He assured the community that his administration would not relent in its responsibility to safeguard the people and create a secure environment in which businesses could thrive, investments could grow and communities could live together in harmony.

The Governor also highlighted the introduction of the Tin City Metro bus service and other transportation initiatives designed to ease mobility and reduce the cost of transportation for residents. He explained that the interventions reflected his administration’s determination to make daily life more affordable while strengthening the movement of people and goods across the state.

He specifically cited the approval of major road projects, including the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Maiduguri corridor and the Mararaban Jama’a–Mangu–Kanke–Langtang–Shendam–Ibi road, describing them as strategic investments capable of transforming transportation, stimulating commerce and opening up communities to new economic opportunities.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel Nanchant Jatau and Director General Mutfwang/Piyo Campaign Council, Sir Joseph Ari, commended the Plateau Community in Kaduna for its steadfast support and enduring connection to the state.

They urged the people to sustain their solidarity with the administration and remain actively involved in the collective effort to build a peaceful, prosperous and progressive Plateau State. They also solicited their continued support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Chairman of the Plateau Community in Kaduna, Engr. John Nanpe, thanked Governor Mutfwang and his delegation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of the Governor’s appreciation for Plateau indigenes living outside the state.

He assured the Governor of the community’s continued solidarity and pledged massive support for his re-election in 2027.

Similarly, one of the patrons of the community, Mr. Peter Dasat, commended the Governor for the transformation taking place in Plateau State and encouraged him to remain focused on his development agenda.

He expressed confidence that the people of Plateau State would reward the administration’s efforts with renewed support in the forthcoming election.
