Atiku will inherit northern 12 million votes, ignore him at your risk – APC chieftain to Tinubu

Dr. Jackson Lekan Ojo, an ex-chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has warned that opponents of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar were making mistake by undermining him, declaring that Atiku will inherit the 12 million Northern block votes associated with late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2027.
Ojo said Southern votes would be shared among 10 presidential candidates, while northern votes will consolidate the leading candidate from the northern part of the country.

“I am a nationalist. Don’t forget Buhari’s 12 million traditional block votes in the North. Who do you think will inherit it? Atiku will inherit it,” he said.
Ojo said President Bola Tinubu is the cause of hardship in the north and they will not support him for a second tenure of Office.

He insisted that hardship is at its peak in the north and they will never support Tinubu as such hardship has never been this worse in the history of Nigeria.
He further ruled out Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of influencing votes for the National Democratic Congress, MDC, maintaining that Kwankwaso has lost structure on Kano.
According to him Kwankwaso has lost political base. Governor of Kano state, Senators, and the House of Assembly are no more with him, stressing that
Kwankwaso is only “formidable in Kano and maybe a little fraction in Jigawa.”
He recalled that President Tinubu lost Lagos in 2023 and got votes in few Southern States, while he has 10 challengers now.
He declared that Tinubu cannot win Oyo State with Seyi Makinde and Osun State because of his arch enemy Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary of NDC.
Backing Atiku, Ojo aligned with Obasanjo’s position that Nigeria needs him to “bring the change we are yearning for.”
He credited Atiku as Vice President and head of the National Economic Council with the telecoms revolution, debt relief, and bringing in technocrats like Nuhu Ribadu, Nasir El-Rufai, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Oby Ezekwesili and Chukwuma Soludo.
