APC youth group targets six million votes for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027

An All Progressives Congress (APC) youth group, operating under the aegis of Youth Structure for Asiwaju, also known as Asiwaju Boys and Girls, has pledged to mobilise six million young Nigerians in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The group’s Coordinator, Dr. Michael Nwoko, made the commitment while briefing journalists at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Monday.

He disclosed that the group had commenced a data-driven registration exercise to capture young Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones, including both registered voters and new voters who have just turned 18.

Dr. Nwoko said, “We have just begun a data-driven registration process with which to capture the data or preponderance of Nigerian youth — those who have already registered to vote across the country and the prospective voters who have just turned 18. They must be data-driven because without data, you cannot achieve anything; without data, you cannot plan.”

He commended the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration, describing them as beneficial to Nigerians and deserving of continuity.

According to him, the group’s vision is to sensitize and mobilise young people to support the President’s agenda.

“Our core objective is to mobilise young boys and girls across the country, first to key into the programmes, policies, and initiatives of Mr. President, and number two, to ensure that we equally propagate that cause and vision of Mr. President to the youth of Nigeria.And number three is to ensure that we also reach out to the prospective young voters in Nigeria who have just turned 18, with a view to encouraging them to register so that they can be part of the electioneering process. By doing so, we would have succeeded in achieving our overall objective.

“What is this overall objective? It is to mobilise a minimum of six million votes for Mr. President come 2027.

“We are also totally determined to render the needed support for all candidates of the APC at all levels of the elections so that the candidates can come out victorious — not just victorious, but to win the election with a wide margin. That is the whole idea,” he said.

Dr. Nwoko added that the group possesses the required structure and would galvanise its grassroots network nationwide to achieve the six-million-vote target.
