BREAKING: Kogi governor nominates immediate past APC State Chairman, Bello Commissioner

In a minor cabinet shakeup, the governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo has nominated the immediate State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Abdullahi Bello as Commissioner.

The nomination was contained in a statement on Thursday, released by the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Arike Ayoade in Lokoja.

The SSG said, the development followed the resignation of the Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Yusuf, while Governor Ododo appreciated the outgoing Commissioner for his services for the State.

The statement also pointed out that a minor cabinet reshuffle also took place to strengthen governance in the State.

The reshpflement saw the redeployment of Barrister Salami Ozigi Deedat from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to the Ministry of Works.

“Also, the Governor has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, popularly known as Dollar, as a Commissioner-Designate,” the statement read.

It added that Bello would be presented before the Kogi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The statement noted that the redeployment of portfolios takes immediate effect, signaling the administration’s commitment to maintaining efficiency in governance.

CAPITAL POST noted that if the nominated of Abdullahi Bello is confirmed by the State House of Assembly, he may be deployed to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Afffairs.
