Fire guts essential commodities market in Kano
The essential commodities market in Kano has gutted by fire in the early hours of Monday.
Popularly called Singa market, the fire razed the substantial parts as it lasted for hours.
As at press time, the cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, while the Federal Fire Service as well as the State fire service in Kano were yet to issue a statement detailing the cause of the inferno.
The Spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif only confirmed the incident and said, the Service received a distress call around 3:16a.m., and deployed firefighting men to the scene to contain the fire.
The Fire fighter disclosed that fire was razing from the moment they got a distress call till 10.10am on Monday, before they finally put if off.
