I save Obasanjo from being injected to death, he loves me till I oppose third term agenda – Atiku

Former Vice President and the Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, said he saved former President Olusegun Obasanjo from being fatally injected to death when he heard of the plot.
He claimed to have told Obasanjo to decline injection when he was in prison, saying that he reminded him of the late Musa Yar’adua who died in Abakaliki prison in 1997.

Since then, Atiku said Obasanjo loves him and the relationship was alright until he opposed his third term agenda, despite being his Vice from 1999 to 2027.
The Presidential candidate revealed this in an interview with journalists, saying Obasanjo appreciated the role he played, but the relationship deteriorated when his third term bid was truncated by him.

According to him, his intervention was occasioned by information he received that plans were afoot to inject Obasanjo and he warned him.
Atiku said, “I saved Obasanjo’s life in prison by leaking information about an impending injection that could have killed him.
“They did the same to Yar’Adua, and when I learnt they planned to do it to him, I warned him not to allow the injection.”
He added, “Today, he wants the world to hate me because I opposed his third-term ambition.”
