Idoma nation in Plateau endorses Governor Mutfwang for second term

In a significant political development, the Idoma Community Development Association, Plateau State Chapter, has officially passed a unanimous vote of confidence in the administration of Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, endorsing him for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This historic decision was made during an interactive session held on Wednesday at the Idoma House within the National Museum Complex, Jos.

The meeting, attended by a comprehensive representation of the Idoma Nation, including Presidents and Secretaries from all 21 districts, traditional titleholders, elders, women, and youth leaders, underscored the community’s collective support for the Governor’s administration.
Rev. Innocent Akor, who coordinated the session, noted that the endorsement followed a thorough assessment of Governor Mutfwang’s performance over the past three years. “The Idoma people in Plateau have observed with keen interest the inclusive and people-centered leadership style of Governor Mutfwang. His approach has fostered a genuine sense of belonging among all ethnic groups within the state,” Rev. Akor stated.

He emphasized the Governor’s commitment to non-discrimination, asserting, “We have seen a leader whose projects and policies have positively impacted every community. Recognizing his dedication to the Idoma people, we are proud to endorse him as our consensus candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial election.”
Chief Peter Amede, the newly elected President of the Idoma Nation in Plateau State, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the tangible progress made under the Governor’s leadership. “Governor Mutfwang has matched words with action, as evidenced by numerous infrastructure projects, enhanced security measures, and concerted efforts to restore peace across the state,” Chief Amede remarked. He also announced that the Idoma Nation is poised to deliver bloc votes for Governor Mutfwang in 2027, with many Idoma indigenes having already transferred their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to ensure their endorsement is impactful.
The Acting Ad’Idoma and Paramount Traditional Ruler of the Idoma Nation, Barr. John Musa, praised Governor Mutfwang for his steadfast support during challenging times, particularly following the passing of the late Chief Barr. Leonard Adejo, the former traditional ruler. “This endorsement reflects our loyalty and appreciation for a leader who has consistently stood by us,” Barr. Musa stated.
Adding to the chorus of support, respected elder statesman Major Adaofikwu (Rtd) commended the achievements of the ‘Time is Now’ administration across various sectors, including health, education, agriculture, and transportation. He affirmed, “Governor Mutfwang has transformed the narrative of leadership in Plateau by uniting diverse ethnic nationalities. All our votes will be cast for him in 2027 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
In response, Hon. Dan Kwada, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Middle-Belt Ethnic Nationalities, expressed gratitude to the Idoma Nation for their unwavering support. He described the endorsement as a testament to the Governor’s inclusive governance philosophy and dedication to equity and justice for all ethnic groups in Plateau State. “The goodwill for Governor Mutfwang is palpable among all Middle-Belt ethnic nationalities in Plateau State, who have witnessed the commendable works of his administration,” Hon. Kwada remarked.
He reiterated the administration’s commitment to continued partnership and deeper inclusion of the Idoma community in governance, ensuring that all citizens are treated fairly, regardless of their background.
The session culminated in a resounding voice vote, affirming Governor Caleb Mutfwang as the sole candidate of the Idoma Nation in Plateau State for the 2027 governorship election.
