Igbos responsible for killings, criminalizing herdsmen in Southeast — Joe Igbokwe

A prominent political figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has accused Igbos of killings in the Southeast region, but blamed Fulani herders.
Igbokwe likened the killings as Igbo versus Igbo, saying those falsely accusing Fulani herders are pathological liars and alarmists, stressing that such antics would not stand any longer.

He stated this in a Facebook post on Thursday, alleging that the rate of killings and wanton destruction of farmland in the region was being perpetrated by his fellow Igbos.
He said: “The blatant and pathological lies about the killings and destruction in the South East can no longer stand.

“It is Igbo killing Igbo, it is Igbo destroying Igboland and put the blame on Hausa/Fulani herdsmen. This is not our culture. This is sad,” he wrote.
The Anambra born APC chieftain has been consistent in speaking on issues affecting Igbo land, insisting that the Igbo people should stop what he called ‘self-affliction’.
