Mosques shutting down in Iran at rapid rate – Fox News

American international television platform on Friday posted a video which quoted, Einat Wilf as saying mosque closures across Iran point to a population that has grown disillusioned with the religious promises made by the country’s government.
Speaking with host Josh Preslo on Live Now, Wilf, a former Israeli Parliament member, made the comment while explaining why she believes Iran, unlike some of its neighbors, has a realistic chance of transitioning to democracy if its current government falls.

She said this shift in public attitude did not happen overnight.
Mosques in Iran are closing at a rapid pace. They don’t believe the promises of Islamic Utopia.

She argued that Iranians have lived under strict religious rule for decades and have directly experienced its results, which she said has led many to reject the idea that religious governance leads to a better life.
She connected this directly to declining participation in religious life.
In her words, Einat Wilf said, “Mosques in Iran are closing at a rapid pace. They don’t believe the promises of Islamic utopia.
“They’ve lived under it. They know how horrific it is. There is a population that could govern Iran as a free democratic country,” she said.
Wilf said this educated and experienced population is, in her view, the strongest argument for optimism about Iran’s future if the current government were to collapse.
She contrasted this with Pakistan and China, which she said have no interest in supporting such a transition, since both benefit from the current government remaining in place.
During the course of the interview she said Israel should go after every Hamas members that invade Israel.
