Onah stands tall for Igede, warns against politics of exclusion in Benue

Hon. Blessed Onah, Member representing Oju I State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, has reaffirmed his place as a bold and uncompromising defender of the Igede Nation, warning that the politics of exclusion has no place in a state that seeks justice and unity.

The lawmaker strongly decried the recent exclusion of Igede people from the Christian pilgrimage to Israel, describing it as a deliberate act of marginalisation and a stain on the principle of fairness. He insisted that no group, no matter how small, should ever be denied equal access to opportunities provided by the state.

Onah also made a case for celebrating excellence, demanding recognition for Egboja Fortune Iji, an outstanding Igede son who distinguished himself as one of the top WAEC performers in Benue. He emphasised that ignoring such brilliance is not only unjust but a dangerous signal to future generations.

With Egboja already admitted into a private university in Abuja, Hon. Onah maintained that honouring young achievers is a moral responsibility that ensures talent is nurtured, rewarded, and multiplied.

By speaking truth to power without fear, Hon. Blessed Onah has proven that he is not just a representative of his constituency but a custodian of equity and justice for the entire Igede Nation. His courage has once again shown that leadership is not about silence or compromise, but about defending dignity, protecting rights, and confronting injustice head-on.
