The APC National Chairman also described the Osun governorship election as a dress rehearsal for the 2027 general elections, stressing that the party would approach the poll with the seriousness it deserves.

He maintained that the APC possesses the depth of experienced leaders and political structures needed to win elections at every level across the country.

“Nothing will stop us from taking Ambo (Ambassador Bolaji Oyebamiji) to Government House come August 15, 2026,” Yilwatda declared.

Accepting the appointment as chairman of the campaign council, Governor Hope Uzodimma thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the council.

He pledged that the council would work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC candidate while ensuring that the campaign remains peaceful and issue-based.

“Our campaign will be vigorous without violence, competitive without bitterness, and confident without arrogance. We are committed to conducting ourselves responsibly throughout the campaign, and today we make that solemn promise,” Uzodimma said.

Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate, Ambassador Bolaji Oyebamiji, said the people of Osun State were eager for a new direction and better governance.

He expressed confidence that, with the support of party leaders, members and supporters, the APC would reclaim power in the state at the August 15 governorship election.
