Senate Primaries: Echocho lost out of APC review
Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Jibrin Isah Echocho has finally lost out of the appeal review of the Senatorial primaries conducted in May.
The lawmaker put up a spirited ‘fight-back’ immediately the primary election was conducted which he contested for a return to the Senate for the third term in what known as ‘season 3′ in political parlance, but lost.
CAPITAL POST recalled that he complained that the primary election result was written in Kogi government house against him.
Of all the 25 serving Senators who lost their primary elections, they all appealed to the APC Appeal Committee for review, citing irregularities.
After the review, list were released approving about 4 serving Senators’ come-back, while others could not make it at appeal, including Echocho.
Echocho is currently the Chairman of Senate Committee on Customs and Excise Duties in the 10th Senate.
After a long wait of the review petition he submitted to the APC headquarters, the name of Chief Erico Ameh has been retained as the candidate of the APC for Kogi East.
