Akpabio fumed amid shouting disorder by Senators over Musa’s request, and while he invoked the relevant section of Senate Rules, Akpabio rejected “the bow and go” request by Senatori Sani Musa, saying that the “era of bow and go has passed”.

Akpabio acknowledged a high level of insecurity in the country and made a remark: “Even Donald Trump is on our neck”, suggesting pressure on the Nigerian government to tackle security challenges frontally and not given chance to frivolities.

The Senate President reacted to the submission of Senator Sani Musa who earlier urged Senators to allow him take a bow and go, saying he had been screened sometime in 2023 and since then he has been facing Senate Committee interactions.

Musa submitted that the Chamber was dealing with the former Chief of Defence Staff who is well known, having been screened before he was made the Chief of Defence Staff, adding that since then,”he has been engaged in Committee interactions from time to time, asserting that there was no questions to be asked that has not been asked before.”

Akpabio warned Senator Musa and any other one Senator to stop politicizing security matters, reminding lawmakers insecurity has scaled up.

“Where are the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga in Kebbi State. Where is General Uba and other soldiers who were killed?”

The Senate President urged Senators to ask critical questions and ensure war against insecurity is fought and won.
