Reopening of PDP’s Wadata house ignites fresh ‘war of words’ as Wike faction takes charge

The prolonged crisis that rocked the once dominant political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is far from over the reopening of the National Secretariat popularly known as Wadata House by the police has reignited fresh ‘war of words’ between the Tanimu Turaki and Nyesom Wike-led factions.
The Secretariat was unsealed by the Police and handed over to Wike-led faction which embittered the Turaki’s group that brought about verbal altercation that seems to further put the PDP on death knell amid preparations for the forthcoming party primaries.

The Tanimu Turaki-led faction described the handing over of Secretariat to Wike and his group by the Police as ‘contemptuous’.
CAPITAL POST recalled that confusion ensued between the two factions laying claim to the soul of the embattled PDP which led to the closure by security agents.

Thugs of both camps invaded the headquarters at a time that the Turaki-led group were in charge of the Secretariat leading to the closure.
In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of Wike-led faction, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, confirming the handing over of the Secretariat by the Police to the factional Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed Takushara, and Senator Samuel Anyawu, National Secretary, in full compliance with duly issued court orders, the development immediately elicited reaction from the Tanimu Turaki-led faction.
Part of the statement read: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) hereby informs all members and the general public that the Party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, as well as The Legacy House, Maitama, have been unsealed by the Nigeria Police Force and handed over to the National Chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed Takushara and Senator Samuel Anyawu, National Secretary in full compliance with duly issued court orders.
“The party commends the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism and adherence to the rule of law. This action is a clear demonstration of respect for constitutional order and due process.
“The Party strongly warns that it will not condone any act capable of causing obstruction, disruption, or breach of peace at the secretariat again.
“All individuals and groups are advised to conduct themselves within the bounds of the law, as security agencies have been duly alerted to take necessary action against violators.
“This positive development reassures members that the recent challenges confronting the Party have been effectively resolved. We therefore call on all aggrieved members to sheath their swords and embrace unity in the collective interest of the Party.
“The Party also expresses its profound appreciation to our leaders and stakeholders for their steadfast support during this period.
“In particular, we acknowledge the guidance and commitment of our National Leader, His Excellency, Chief Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Hon Minister of the FCT, whose support has been invaluable.”
“Together, we move forward, Stronger, United and more Committed to our shared Vision.”
The National Publicity Secretary of Turaki group, Comrade Ini Ememobong, reacting, maintained that the Justice Abdulmalik’s judgment which is the basis for which the police force is allegedly acting has been appealed.
The PDP added that by the action of the police, it has tampered with the res and that that can render the judgment of the Court of Appeal nugatory, when it is eventually given.
“We are aware that the Nigeria Police Force has unsealed the National Secretariat of our party and aided its takeover and occupation by the agents of the federal government and APC apologists, masquerading as PDP members, despite a pending appeal.”
