Ondo PDP not part of Wike’s Rainbow Coalition – Reps candidate

The candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency, Babatunde Faro, has distanced itself from Wike’s Rainbow Coalition.
Faro at a press conference in Akure on Monday, said it awaits directives from the its national leadership, saying that the party was yet to make its position known whether to join any coalition or not at the grassroots level.

According to him, Ondo PDP take a decision to join Wike’s coalition, but they haven’t received any directive tomorrow of it from the national leadership, hence, they don’t belonged yet.
He however recognised Sandy Ojang Onor of Wike’s faction as the 2027 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.

“Our presidential candidate still remains Sandy Onor as the PDP candidate,” he said.
According to him, the party will make a firm decision regarding possible coalitions and alliances with other political parties closer to the 2027 general election.
“One month or so to the 2027 poll, the party will take a firm decision on any coalition levels or any alliances with any party. And from then, as a party man, I am obligated and bound by it, and I will make my own position known,” Faro said.
While answering questions from journalists, Faro urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that votes count.
