BREAKING: All Kebbi PDP Senators defect to ruling APC

All Senators from Kebbi State who were elected in 2023 general election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Tuesday defected to the ruling All Progressives, APC.

Their defection was announced in the presence of the National Chairman of the APC, Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje who was in the Senate with members of the National Executive Committee of the party.

The Senators who defected are, Adamu Aliero, also a former Governor. He represents Kebbi Central Senatorial Senatorial District.

Senator Yahaya Abdullahi representing Kebbi North Senatorial District, was a former Senate leader in the 9th Senate defected.

While Senator Garba Maidoki representing Kebbi South Senatorial District defected.

In their letters of defection which was read by the Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau, the lawmakers cited unmitigated crisis rocking their former party as reasons for their defection.

They further asserted that they were convinced that President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ was working despite daunting challenges of insecurity in the country.
