PDP’s collapse imminent, Lamido will join us soon – Ganduje

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed speculation that he is plotting a return to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring his unshaken loyalty to the ruling party.
Responding to remarks credited to former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido—who claimed the APC would soon fall apart and its defectors, including Ganduje, would rejoin the PDP—Ganduje stated that it is Lamido who would soon join the APC.

In a statement released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, the APC chairman described Lamido’s assertions as “baseless and illogical,” insisting there is no justification for him to abandon the ruling party for what he termed a “failing opposition.”
Ganduje went further, predicting the complete collapse of the PDP by the end of 2025 due to ongoing internal conflicts within the party.

“It is evident to any discerning observer that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC continues to gain momentum, with prominent political figures across the country defecting to the party in large numbers.
“With such overwhelming national support, the APC remains focused on consolidating its achievements and preparing for a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.”
“In fact we will soon receive Sule Lamido because very soon he won’t have where to go, the PDP is dead,” the statement said.
Dr. Ganduje reaffirmed his pride in leading the APC, which he described as the largest political party in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, reiterating his commitment to strengthening internal democracy and fostering sustainable governance.
He urged Lamido to concentrate on resolving the PDP’s deep-seated divisions instead of indulging in speculative rhetoric.
Ganduje assured Nigerians that under Dr. Ganduje’s leadership, the APC remains united, focused, and committed to fulfilling its promises to the people.
