BREAKING: Nasarawa Governor Sule names Wadada as preferred successor
The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has named Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred successor ahead of 2027 general election on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
He gave this disclosure at a meeting with political appointees on Thursday at the Government House, Lafia.
Sule announced his preferred successor amid overcrowded governorship aspirants in Nasarawa State.
Senator Wadada was elected on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in 2023 before he defected to the All Progressives Congress in political realignment.
As an opposition lawmaker in the 10th National Assembly, Wadada is the Chairman of Senate Committee on Public Accounts, a position reserved for opposition lawmakers.
Meanwhile, the governor has criticised political office holders who present routine responsibilities such as salary payments and road construction as major achievements.
