Dare devil gunmen storm Ekwulobia town in Anambra, with two dead, others injured
In Ekwulobia in Anambra State in the South Eastern, Nigeria, dare devil gunmen engaged in sporadic shooing with one Keke Napep driver hit by stray bullets and died inside his, while another lifeless body was seen in video which has gone viral on Wednesday 9th July, 2025.
The Anambra State Police Command was yet to issue a statement as at Thursday, but several eyewitness within the environment confirmed gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB were in show of strength.
In the video, an armed man could be seen in viral audio under the new constructed flyover while people were seen cautioning themselves to be careful
Though no group has claimed responsibility, credible source said, it couldn’t have been far from members of IPOB .
Other sources said, some politicians were using the gunmen to intimidate and harass citizens and political opponents due to the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship election scheduled to hold on November 8 2025.
Some are also tasking the security agencies, the state government and the state-sponsored Udogachi vigilante operatives to do more in securing lives and property in the state.
CAPITAL POST recalled that Anambra State governorship election has been scheduled for November 8, 2025 which Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is contesting for his second tenure of office alongside other contestants, including the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
