Lawan lamented the surge in attacks, noting that there are some security issues that are not be spoken publicly, but in view of the seeming helplessness of security agents, there was a need for government to adequately fund security agencies.

He maintained that security agencies couldn’t get adequate resources to confront criminals squarely.

“They can not do magic. They need adequate funding because if you are not well armed, you cannot confront insurgents who have sophisticated weapons.

“We cannot continue to maintain a minute silence for those killed by bandits.

“Mr Senate President, we propose a security support why haven’t we done that?

Senate President emeritus commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he’s aware of his commitment to tackling, adding that there was a need for him to do more.
