Our correspondent gathered that the atmosphere changed when the lawmaker arrived the venue of the congress as party members and supporter who were already at the venue began to shout ‘the shout of rejection’ in Hausa language, saying, “Ba ma yi kuma!” meaning, “We are not doing again!”

The lawmaker became apprehensive and took to his heels, as some of the visibly agitated constituents began to chase him away from the venue.

In the video, a man is heard shouting, “Ba za ku jira ba; ku ɗauki chairman ɗinku, kada ku bar shi a baya,” which translated to, “You will not wait, take your chairman, don’t leave him behind!”

The footage shows the lawmaker surrounded by a crowd, with some individuals protesting and gesturing angrily. Security personnel and a few supporters can be seen trying to shield him as tensions escalate.

He was said to have disconnected himself from his constituents and highly intolerant to them when they visits him in his office at the National Assembly since his assumption of office.

One of the Constituents said: “We are not doing again. He cannot relate with the people and he is intolerant.”
