Sunday Worship Service (31st August, 2025): Topic: Living by Faith

By Pastor Kola Oyekale
God is looking for people he can hand over the baton of his assignment.
With you alone, you can go fast but with many people, you will go far.
There is much more to your existence.

If you don’t have the life of Christ, you are living but dead.
The church is meant to transform you and make you better than you are. Church is not fun but a reality of the transformation of God in us.

God created the church to teach people to find their bearing in God.
Faith is trusting God even when you don’t see the future, obeying him when it is hard and believing that his plan is better than your own. It also means trusting God’s character, his actions, his integrity.
Living by faith means choosing to trust in God especially in situations where you don’t have all the answers.
Living by faith is the ability to live above facts or sensory perceptions.
God definitely has a better plan for your life than yours.
Most of the times we try to reason out our lives.
Habakkuk 2:4 NLT
[4] “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
Romans 1:17 NLT
[17] This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Galatians 3:9 NLT
[9] So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.
Hebrews 10:1 NLT
[1] The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship.
2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT
[7] For we live by believing and not by seeing.
Proverbs 3:5 NLT
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Do not be led by what you know.
In all the things you do, in your ways and actions, acknowledge God.
Proverbs 3:6-7 AMPC
[6] In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. [7] Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. [Prov. 8:13.]
Hebrews 5:12-14 NLT
[12] You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. [13] For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. [14] Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.
If you remain a babe, you can’t operate Kingship. If you don’t grow, you can’t reign and you will remain a servant.
Those who subject to the dictates of the world are not kings, they are babes and servants.
It takes being skillful to live by faith. Faith is a realm, not everyone is there. It takes a lot of walk with God through scriptures and the Holy Spirit to live by faith.
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing God’s word.
You are hearing through the revelation of the Father powered by the Holy Spirit.
If your life is not falling in alignment with God, you have no right to ask God for anything.
Deuteronomy 28:1, 1-2 NLT
[1] “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.
[1] “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. [2] And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
II Corinthians 10:5-6 NKJV
[5] casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, [6] and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
When your obedience is complete, God will make all things that are out of alignment in your life to come in obedience to his will for your life.
You need to master the skill of faith. Keep practicing or exercising your faith.
Until your giving becomes worship, that worship is not complete.
People struggle to give because they have not seen giving as worship.
It takes mastery to know that everything he has given to you is his and come from him.
The life of faith is gradual, progressive and consistent.
You don’t live by faith one day and live in fear the next day.
You can’t jump into faith one day. The journey of faith is progressive.
Principles of Faith
1. The principle of seeing and hearing.
Everything in life that you become in a function of your sight and hearing.
There are many things that we copy that is not from God but from hell.
Sight and sound are the gates of the eyes and ears.
They have a great effect on our metamorphosis. Sight influences our lifestyle (dressing, the food we eat…).
Fear and faith comes from what we see or hear.
What people see or hear from you is either creating faith or fear in people.
We need both sight and sound to empower us for faith.
While what you are hearing and seeing makes you, what you are saying is forming your world. What you say builds your world.
Genesis 1:2-4 NKJV
[2] The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. [3] Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. [4] And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
The fact that you believe it and you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it does not exist in the spirit realm.
Prayer: Lord help me live a life that pleases you and grow in faith in Jesus name.
