“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s reelection. When I am eating, I think about the president’s reelection. Everything I am doing now is about the president’s reelection.”

The former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has launched a scathing attack on the former Vice President and now the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku is on a joint ticket with the former governor of Rivers State, Chief Rotimi Amaechi as vice presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.

Wike, speaking during a political engagement on Monday at a Town Hall interactive meeting with the Rumueme and Apara Kingdoms in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area Rivers State, described Atiku and Amaechi ticket as “joint ticket of corruption.”

He said Rivers State was too strategic to allow a desperate coalition to secure 25% constitutional vote share which he would personally not allow them in Rivers.

Wike dig down into record and declare Atiku as one of the most corrupt politicians, which was referenced by his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo.

He reminded his audience at the political stakeholders meeting that such an element with baggage as confirmed by his principal should not lay claim to moral uprightness.

According to him, the inclusion of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi into the equation, further diminished the already bankrupt ticket and urged the people to ignore them.

Wike mocked Atiku over his comment that people should collect money offered them by APC and vote them out, saying:

“When I saw Atiku on television yesterday, asking Nigerians to take any money giving to them by people from the party in power, that it will be stolen money, I said haa, Atiku is now an apostle of anti-corruption?

“The same Atiku that his boss described as corrupt and that one of his major regrets is making him (Atiku) his Vice President is talking.”

He reiterated his commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 general election.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory further dismissed opposition in Rivers and described them as noise makers and desperate political jobbers who should not be taken serious for anything.

“Let us forget sentiment and vote the person that has recognized the people of Rivers State with dividends of democracy and with several appointments.

“I know the reelection of Tinubu in 2027 will be easier than that of 2023. We should appreciate Tinubu and ensure massive votes for him. We can do it”.
