The victim’s corpse could be seen dumped in a drainage surrounded by a pool of his blood, in a video which has gone viral.

Though his identity was yet to be confirmed, concerns have been raised at the manner of escalating killings in Osun ahead of Saturday’s election.

The incident comes in the aftermath of a serving Senator, Fadahunsi Adenigba Francis ordering All Progressives Congress members to kill Accord Party supporters before Saturday 15, 2026.

In attempt to advert political violence, the Inspector General of Police has deployed massive police officers to the State as well as other security agents like the Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, but casualties due to violence has not abated as at Friday.

A source said, there had been concerns over the activities of suspected political thugs allegedly linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC), but adequate measures were reportedly not taken to prevent the latest attack.APC membership drive

A relative of the deceased, who spoke about the incident, described the killing as devastating, saying the victim was a family man with a wife and children.

“I’m not okay as I am speaking to you. The man they killed was very close to me. They killed him, and he had a wife and children,” the relative said.

The relative said the circumstances surrounding the killing had left the victim’s family and associates devastated.
