In the headline of the X post titled: “FCT Police Debunk Reports of Kidnap Attack on Military Officer, Say Incident Happened in Nasarawa”, the Command said the report in some media platforms alleging the occurrence in Abuja has caused tensions.
He warned media platforms to resist from publication of unverified reports or confirm before going to publication.
“The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that a serving military officer, Colonel Abdussalam A. Ude, was attacked by suspected kidnappers in Abuja, clarifying that the incident occurred in Badna, New Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and not within the FCT.
“The Command said preliminary investigations ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, confirmed that the incident was wrongly attributed to the nation’s capital by some blogs and media platforms.
