The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North Central has resolved to mobilise supporters across the region for a mega rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, October 10, to demonstrate its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally, organised by the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, will be hosted by Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, with First Lady Oluremi Tinubu expected to headline the event.

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday following a high-level meeting of party stakeholders from the North Central in Abuja.

The meeting brought together the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; governors and deputy governors from the region; ministers; members of the National Assembly; and other political office holders.

Yilwatda said the stakeholders had unanimously agreed to mobilise their political structures and supporters across the six states in the North Central and the Federal Capital Territory for the rally.

Describing the planned gathering as the “mother of all rallies”, the APC chairman said it would demonstrate the region’s collective commitment to the Tinubu-Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He added that the meeting also deliberated on strategies to strengthen coordination among party leaders and grassroots structures to ensure effective mobilisation across the region.

According to him, the stakeholders acknowledged Akume’s leadership in bringing political leaders from the North Central together and commended Governor Sule for accepting to host the rally in Nasarawa State.

The meeting also reviewed arrangements for the participation of party leaders, women, youths, grassroots organisations and supporters from across the region, with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to ensuring the success of the event.

Meanwhile, Yilwatda expressed condolences to the families of victims of the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State and the mining-related tragedy in Niger State.

He described the incidents as painful losses and sympathised with the affected families and communities.
