Kogi poly suspends 6 lecturers over ‘sex for mark, cultism’ allegations
Kogi State Polytechnic management has suspended six lecturers over their alleged involvement in ‘sex for marks, cultism and sales of handouts.’
The school said it has commenced investigation as one lecturer was said to have been involved in sexual harassment, other one was involved in unauthorised sales of handouts and another textbooks.

This was disclosed by the Information and Public Relations Officer of the institution, John Onimisi in a statement on Sunday in Lokoja.
“Six lecturers on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, were suspended by the management of the institution for the unauthorised sale of handouts and textbooks, while a lecturer was also suspended for alleged sexual harassment”, the statement partly read.
The school management took the disciplinary action at the backdrop of growing concerns over sex for marks, cultism involving some lecturers amd students and other misconducts rocking the school in recent times.
Insiders sources hinted that female students are complaining of sexual harassment by lecturers for good grades, even as cultism on the campus has been a source of concern as some lecturers allegedly got involved.
Another source claimed that disciplinary measures introduced by the previous administration had weakened, emboldening erring staff and students.
“The school management is aware of the allegations, and the disciplinary committee of the Polytechnic is already investigating them. The outcome will be made available to journalists in due course,” he said.
