APC sets N20m fee for FCT Area Council Chairmanship forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has pegged the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms for aspirants seeking to contest chairmanship positions in the forthcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections at N20 million.

This was revealed in the party’s schedule of activities and timetable, signed on Tuesday by the National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

The document stated that the decision was approved by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

According to the statement, aspirants vying for councillorship seats will pay N2.5 million to obtain their nomination and expression of interest forms.

A breakdown of the fees shows that chairmanship hopefuls are expected to pay N5 million for the expression of interest form and N15 million for the nomination form, bringing the total to N20 million. Meanwhile, councillorship aspirants will pay N500,000 and N2 million respectively for the two forms.

The APC also disclosed that female aspirants and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are only required to purchase the Expression of Interest Form, as the Nomination Form is free for them.

In addition, youth aspirants aged between 25 and 40 will be eligible for a 50 percent discount on the Expression of Interest Form.

The sale of forms will run from Thursday, May 22 to Wednesday, May 28. Completed forms are expected to be submitted no later than Thursday, May 29.

“Expression of Interest Form and Nomination Form will be available for purchase at the Directorate of Organization, 2nd Floor, APC National Headquarters, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja”, the notice read.
