Yilwatda made the donation on Saturday at his home community of Ampang East, Kanke LGA, during a ceremony where he was honoured with a traditional chieftaincy title by his kinsmen.

He was conferred with the title “Kaeh-rit of Ampang East,” which translates to “the good seed,” in recognition of his contributions to community development and humanitarian service.

Speaking at the event, the APC national chairman said the gesture aligns with the food security drive of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, which prioritises increased agricultural productivity as a strategy to reduce poverty and strengthen the economy.

According to him, empowering local farmers with critical inputs is key to achieving sustainable food production and ensuring that communities are resilient against economic shocks.

Prof. Yilwatda, who was recently also honoured with a traditional title by the Tiv nation, said his public service philosophy is inspired by President Tinubu’s leadership style and governance approach.

“I am learning from the best leader. Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is one of the finest politicians Nigeria has produced. Since he adopted me as his son, I have learned so much from him,” he said.

He added, “If you see me succeeding, it is because I am learning from the very best. I will continue to work hard and contribute my quota to governance and development in Nigeria.”

While Commenting on political realignments in Plateau State, including Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s possible defection to the APC, Yilwatda said the party remains open and inclusive, stressing that APC does not discriminate between old and new members.

He noted that Plateau State stands to benefit immensely from political unity, particularly if governance structures from the national to the local level operate under a single political platform.

“Anyone who joins the APC today has the same rights as someone who has been in the party for years. We do not recognise ‘original owners’ of the party,” he said.

Yilwatda further explained that political harmony would enhance coordination between the national budget, state institutions and local governments, ensuring that development policies are better aligned with the needs of the people.

“With all structures working together from the national level down to the local governments the ultimate beneficiary will be the people of Plateau State”.

The chieftaincy ceremony attracted party faithful, community leaders and farmers, who commended the APC National chairman for his support to agriculture and grassroots development.
