Adamawa guber: Judge me by competence, not age – Haske

A young aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulrahman Haske, has declared that he possesses the requisite experience and competence to contest the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election.

Haske spoke in Abuja on Wednesday shortly after submitting his nomination forms, formally joining the race for the party’s ticket.

Dismissing concerns about his age, the 35 years old aspirant insisted that leadership should be determined by capacity and track record rather than youthfulness.

“Judging me by my age alone is actually not fair. I have served this country diligently across different sectors—from oil and gas to agriculture and telecommunications. All of this is well documented in my CV”, he said.

He also disclosed that he has fulfilled all requirements stipulated in the Electoral Act and submitted the necessary documents for screening ahead of the party’s primaries.

“I have done all the necessary requirements. I have submitted my documents, and we will allow the process to take shape and guide us on the next steps,” he added.

On his chances amid possible consensus arrangements within the party, Haske expressed confidence in the APC’s internal democratic process, noting that he remains optimistic about securing the ticket regardless of the mode of primary adopted.

Outlining his vision for the state, the aspirant said his agenda would prioritise economic growth, youth empowerment, and continuity in governance.

“I am focused on creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive—where young men and women can succeed. We are building a new Adamawa State, and our priority is Adamawa first,” he stated.

He also pledged to consolidate on the achievements of the current administration under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

“We will build from where His Excellency has stopped and ensure that we create a greater Adamawa together,” he said.
