BREAKING: Appeal Court validates ADC/Accord party, throw out proscription suit
The court of Appeal has thrown out judgement of the Federal High Court proscribing the African Democratic Party, ADC and the Accord Party.
The panelists of the Appeal Court picked holes in the judgement of the High Court, stating that the Forum of Former Legislators, which filed the deregistration suit have no locus standi to have instituted the matter.

Justice Peter Odo Lifu, said, lacking the ‘locus standi’ is fundamental to the case, hence, he voided the judgement of the lower Court and throw it out.
The judgement was delivered by Justice Abba Bello, and he awarded a penalty of N1 million against the Forum of Former Legislators.
The judgement favoured ADC, Accord party and three other political parties.
Ahead of the 2027 general election, the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar was elected as Presidential flag bearer of the ADC, while Osun State governor Ademola Adeleke, will be contesting on the platform of Accord party on August 15, 2026 for a second term of office.
