El-Rufai whisked away from mob attack at a lecture in Imo, after he was accused of causing confusion in Nigeria

The former Governor of Kaduna State and an African Democratic Party opposition figure, Malam Nasir El-Rufai was whisked away from venue of public lecture in Owerri, capital of Imo State by security agents.
El-Rufai was present at the Odenigbo Lecture, Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri over the weekend, and his presence angered the crowds who demanded for his immediate removal or he should be ready to face the wrath of mob attack.

Protest first rocked the venue, as protesters accused him of causing confusion in the country during his past political activities.
Eye witness explained that security operatives quickly moved him away from the venue to undisclosed place to calm tempers.
“For security reasons, El-Rufai was swiftly whisked away after protesters declared he had no moral standing to lecture in a citadel of Igbo heritage, citing his past role as a stakeholder in chaos and hate campaigns against Ndigbo.”
The former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi was however warned to desist from using the platform for his “political desperation”.
Peter Obi is from Anambra State in the South East, Nigeria
