Plateau Assembly candidate donates food items to widows in constituency

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming 2027 Langtang North Central State House of Assembly seat, Hon. Nandir Lar, has brought joy to the lives of over 200 widows in the constituency.

Hon. Lar, who is affectionately known as the “Gimbiyan Gani,” reached out to the widows through her philanthropic initiative, “The Jagoran Talakawa Widows’ Outreach.”

The generous distribution took place at the Pil-Gani Market Square, where the widows, selected from 121 polling units across the nine federal wards of the constituency, received cash, food items, and detergents.

The Widows dressed in vibrant uniforms, expressed their gratitude with joyous traditional dances, celebrating the goodwill bestowed upon them.

During her address, Hon. Nandir Lar characterized the initiative as an embodiment of compassion and love for humanity. “This is not a political program but a deliberate effort to remind our widows that they are valued, recognized, and not forgotten,” she stated.

She further explained that the Jagoran Talakawa Movement symbolizes a commitment to humanity and inclusive service, promising that more initiatives would follow if given the opportunity to serve the constituency. “This event will be held annually, God willing,” she added.

The occasion was graced with goodwill messages emphasizing the importance of unity within the APC. Notable speakers included the APC Chairman of Langtang North, Hon. Selbol; the Leader of the Langtang North Legislative Arm, Hon. Nanloh Miri-Dashe; and Amb. Miri Timnan Nyantau, President of Tarok Youth Worldwide (TAPYA), all calling for prayers and unity for Langtang North/South, Plateau State, and Nigeria as a whole.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Diggai Comfort from Warok Ward, spoke on behalf of her fellow widows, expressing profound gratitude to Chief Nandir Lar. She prayed for her elevation to a position where she could further assist the less privileged in the community.

The event was well-attended by dignitaries, including Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat, Former Provost of FCE Pankshin; Hon. Brian Dadi, Former Chairman of Langtang North; traditional rulers; clergy; women leaders; political stakeholders; and numerous supporters from Langtang North Central and beyond.
