Court sacks, attempt to weaken my presidential candidacy ahead of 2027 – Atiku reacts

The presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has alleged that Thursday’s Court judgement, sacking the David Mark-led leadership of the opposition party was an attempt targeted at.weakening his President candidacy ahead of 2027 general election.
CAPITAL POST earlier on Thursday reported that Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, delivered judgement on the former acting National Chairman, Abdullahi Gombe’s case seeking reliefs to sack the leadership of ADC headed by Senator David Mark and.Rauf Aregbesola.

Atiku vowed that his campaign team would challenge the judgement, recalled that the case had earlier been dismissed for lack of Court jurisdiction as it was considered a party internal affairs.
Atiku, who is currently on campaign to Kebbi in the North Western Nigeria said his team would challenge the judgement at the Court of Appeal, urging party supporters to remain calm.

While he condemned the judgement, Atiku described the court order as a calculated attempt to weaken the ADC and frustrate his candidacy.
The court order by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, also invalidated all decisions the party’s caretaker committee made, including the nomination of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
Reacting in a statement by the Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku insisted that the judgement was against the time.
He said the timing of the judgment was telling as it came barely a day after a mammoth crowd turned out in Sokoto to welcome him and attend the launch of the ADC campaign.
