Senate interested in laws to help President Tinubu than diversionary issue now – Kalu

Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed that the 10th Senate was more interested in making laws that would make President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed than issues that will divert attention for now.
He said the Senate was committed to ensuring that its laws will put three square meals a day on the table of Nigerians, hence, the Senate don’t have time for detractors who tried to upstage the leadership of the Senate in the beginning of the session.

Well, the Senate is more interested in making laws that will help President Ahmed Tinubu to overcome the economic problems that our people are going through and we are more interested.
We are more interested in focusing on bringing Nigerian people to see how they eat three times a day. Yes, they will attempt, but we do not allow it to happen. That is why in the Senate, we are one family, and a very big family, and it’s not going to happen.

The former governor of Abia State on Tuesday reacted to questions on political developments in Nigeria by members of the Senate Press Corps in Abuja.
Well, let’s be honest, it’s neither me nor other senators Senate President or President who have not forced any governor to join our party. On occasions, I’ve seen my governor, my governor has a lot of respect for me.
On his perspective on mass defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Kalu said the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti who is of the Labour Party has his choice to make, either to defect to the APC or not, stating that he will however continue to campaign for all APC candidates in Abia.
He said: “He is my friend and my former banker. I can never discuss it. Whether he wants to join or not, it’s up to him. But people like me who 100% work for APC, I will make sure that I campaign, I will campaign there and see that we return President Tinubu and every candidate of APC.”
