Imo APC insists on Uzodinma as candidate, faults High Court

The All Progressives Congress in Imo State has insisted that Governor
Hope Uzodinma remains the candidate of Imo West Senatorial District despite the Court judgement on Thursday in Abuja.

The party said it stumbled on unverified reports making the rounds across many social media platforms, claiming, it was being circulated by a notorious opposition that always opposed them.

Reacting in a statement on Thursday by the State Publicity Secretary, Onwuasoanya Jones, read:

“The Party wishes to state without any confusion that His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, remains the candidate of our Party for Imo West Senatorial District, having won the primaries of our great Party with the overwhelming support of the majority of our Party members.”

The party vowed that its legal department will intervene to upturn the judgement.

“We urge our teeming Party members and supporters of our great Party to remain focused and undistracted and remain committed to working assiduously for the victory of our Party across all constituencies in the State”, the statement concluded
