APC primaries: Haske backs open contest, expresses confidence of victory

An aspirant for the Adamawa State Governorship on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Bashir Haske, has expressed confidence in emerging victorious in the party’s forthcoming primaries.
Speaking shortly after appearing before the screening committee, Haske said he had fulfilled all necessary requirements and submitted his credentials.

Describing the exercise as successful, Haske said,“I just came in to fulfill the requirements, which is the screening. We have done it successfully and submitted all our credentials. Now, we await the outcome.
The 2027 governorship aspirant, while indicating his preference for a consensus arrangement, maintained that all contenders should be allowed to test their popularity through a transparent process.

“I would expect to be nominated as the consensus candidate, but I am a true democrat. I believe we should all go to the field and show our strength because APC is a transparent and fair party,” he stated.
The aspirant said he remained optimistic about his chances regardless of the mode of primary eventually adopted by the party.
He also called on party members to remain united and loyal ahead of the primaries, stressing the need for collective commitment to ensure the party’s success.
“We should remain loyal to the party whatever the outcome, and be hopeful that we will win the primaries by the grace of God,” he said.
