Monday’s attack, it was learnt, was carried by bandits numbering about 30 who were armed with dangerous weapons.

While approaching their target, the gunmen shot sporadically to scare anyone from resisting them while residents who were not within their immediate target, scampered for safety.

An elderly woman was also said to have been struck by a stray bullet and is in critical condition.

Eye witnesses who pleaded anonymity confirmed the attack, but Kwara State Police Command was yet to issue statement.
