Kaduna mother assaulted for criticising lack of support for Uba Sani

A Kaduna mother believer to be a staunch supporter of Governor Uba Sani was allegedly assaulted for showing solidarity for the governor, when she criticised the lack of public support for the governor.
She was said to have criticised residents of the State for being reluctant to show support and enthusiasm during Saturday’s presidential zonal flag off of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the woman, speaking in Hausa, expressed disappointment that Kaduna residents of the area did not come out to celebrate Governor Sani during the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally, by playing songs in his honour, displaying his posters, or publicly showing their support, as supporters of governors in other states often do.
In the video, the woman referred to citizens of other States supporting their governors, saying that Uba Sani shouldn’t be different.

“Honestly, the people of Kaduna are surprised, and this is not how things should be. It should not be that in the whole of Kaduna, nobody has come out to show support for their own governor. Nobody has come out to promote Governor Uba Sani in this city.”
She lamented that people did not come out to show patriotism and show that they were proud to be Kaduna citizens.
She said in other States, supporters normally file out to show solidarity and welcome their leaders with songs, posters and other displays of solidarity.
Unfortunately, residents of Kaduna failed to organise similar displays in support of their own governor.
She condemned the people for not coming out in songs and dances to support their governor as they watch
people from other states playing songs in praise of their own governors.
She further argued that citizens should be able to express appreciation for their leaders regardless of political affiliations or opinions about how they have governed.
“Whatever your governor is doing, should you not show him support? We should demonstrate our support and appreciation for our leaders.
“It should not be that governors from other states come to this city, and their people turn out in large numbers to welcome them, play their songs and display their posters, while our own governor, Uba Sani, receives no such show of support,” she said.
However, a separate video obtained by SaharaReporters shows the woman in distress after the alleged assault, crying and bleeding from injuries to her forehead and nose.
In the footage, she is seen lying on the ground with visible injuries.
A third video captures the moment she is assisted into a tricycle, while security operatives are reportedly seen at the scene.
The woman was reportedly rescued by friends who were present during the incident.
