He said destiny and favour to be president has left Atiku who contested in 2023 general election against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that Tinubu was divinely ordained to be President of Nigeria at this time.

In 2023 general election, Atiku contested presidency on the ticket of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and lost.

Oba of Lagos asserted that power belongs to God and was emphatic that Atiku cannot never be President of Nigeria, but described Tinubu as a compassionate and visionary leader.

“Who would have believed he’d become president? He presented his certificate to me first after winning. Lagosians and Nigerians should support him to fulfil God’s purpose for the country.”

Oba recalled that he predicted that Tinubu would one day become President after he became Oba of Lagos in 2003, adding that President Tinubu will complete his second term of office.

He said, “I’m not a politician, but I always tell them that politicians don’t fight; they only disagree. God deliberately chose Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Nigeria.

“On May 23, 2003, the day I received my certificate of office, I told God that Tinubu would one day be president. He made Lagos proud and will complete his term by God’s grace. Everything in life has an end; only God gives longevity.”
